The Samuel Clemens Library/Media Center subscribes to the following databases for your use. All of the material on these databases is reliable and credible, written by authors who are experts in their fields of study. Feel free to use any of the information in your research, but do not forget to document where and from whom you got the information. A drop-down menu of these databases is located on the Clemens Library/Media Center Catalog. You may obtain user names and passwords from the librarian.

Gale Databases - Includes a magazine database, newspaper database, literary databases, and a professional educators' database.

EBSCO Online – includes a magazine database, newspaper database, health database, professional educators’ database

NEWSBANK – includes headline news from over 200 newspapers in the U.S., and the world

LEXIS-NEXIS SCHOLASTIC UNIVERSE – includes a magazine and newspaper database, federal and state court cases, federal and state laws, statistics on countries of the world, and foreign language database in  Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese

OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS - Current issues with articles culled from scholarly journals, newspapers, and magazines giving pro and con of each side.

CQ RESEARCHER – a database of thoroughly researched articles on controversial issues posted weekly

PRO AND CON – A database of issues taken up and debated by the Congress of the United States. Opinions are written by either a Senator or a Representative, one from the Democratic Party and one from the Republican Party.
