PARENT INFORMATION ON PROCEDURES
Traffic is always an issue at Green Valley Elementary.  Please allot yourself extra time in the morning and afternoon.  There will be long lines.  Please cooperate with procedures to ensure the safety of all our students.  We welcome any suggestions for improvement.

MORNING ARRIVAL
*Breakfast is served from 7:00 a.m. until 7:35 a.m. in the cafeteria.
*Car Riders – Children who are dropped off are called “Car-Riders”.  We ask that all parents adhere to the one way traffic patterns and signs.  Your child will be assisted out of the vehicle by our volunteers and staff.
*Parent Drop Off – We ask that parents park in the designated “Parent Parking” lot and use the designated cross walk located by the gym.
*Kindergarten students will report to the cafeteria each morning
*First grade students will report to the music room and cafeteria each morning
*Second, third and fourth grade students report to the gym each morning
All grades will be picked up from the above places by their teachers at 7:35 a.m.

AFTERNOON DISMISSAL
*Daycare, bus, walker and bike students are escorted to designated areas in the gym at the dismissal bell and released to their assigned transportation.
*Car Riders – Students are escorted to the cafeteria by their teacher.
-Parents must display the lime green placard in their windshield so we may easily read your child’s name and call it in by way of a walkie talkie into the cafeteria.   If you do not have our placard, please obtain one from the office.  (Keep in mind your pick up will be delayed while we verify your identification.)
-Children will be released to your vehicle by a teacher.
-Please adhere to the one way traffic pattern for everyone’s safety.
*Parent Pick Up – Parents must park in the designated parking lot near the gym.
-Please come inside with your lime green placard to retrieve your child in the cafeteria.  If placard is not available, we must verify                your identification in the office before releasing any students to you.  This will delay your pick up.
-Please form a single file line and patiently wait your turn.
-Your child’s name will be called into the cafeteria and released to you.
ABSENCES
*Please call the office and notify the school of your child’s absence.  619-4463
*Send a written statement to school when your child returns.
LUNCH
*We encourage you to have lunch with your child whenever you can.  However, seating will be limited due to our large student population.
*Please sign in as a visitor and wear your sticker.
*Students are allowed to eat with parents at the designated tables.  If the area is full then the other option is to eat at the end of the classroom's assigned table.
*Students will not be allowed to have a student lunch guest this year due to our growing population.
SIGNING IN LATE/EARLY RELEASE
Please always sign your child into school when arriving late or picking your child up early.  We discourage trying to check out students early after 2:30 p.m.
SECURITY
We welcome any and all parents/visitors.  However, visitors or volunteers must always obtain a visitor sticker in the office. A valid ID must be presented for varification. When leaving the campus, return your sticker to the receptionist.
TRANSPORTATION CHANGES
*Please establish after school transportation before you send your child to school.  If there will be a change in his/her regular routine, please send a note with your child.
*If you must change the regular routine, please call the school office before 2:00 p.m. .  Please reserve calls after 2:00 p.m. for emergencies only.
