Student Council’s CIA
(Corbett In Action)
Corbett Student Council will be holding their annual toy drive to benefit Schertz Blue Santa Program and Elf Louise. The drive will be held from December 1-17. Please drop off new or “like new” toys to your 2nd period teachers. Student Council will pick up toys every Friday.

A BRIEFING ON THE DANGERS OF PRESCRIPTION DRUG ABUSE
The SCUCISD Safe Schools & Drug Free Committee and the SCUCISD Police Department will be providing a briefing on the trends and dangers of prescription drug abuse on
Monday, December 8th, 2008, at 6:30 pm in the Samuel Clemens High School Auditorium.
This is open to all district residents and parents. Chief Noegel of the SCUCISD Police Department will be the guest speaker.
Some areas that will be covered are the prescription drugs commonly abused, national trends, and what we can do to help prevent this. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Child care will be provided during the presentation and light refreshments will be available.
We will be having an early release on December 18th.

The Journalism Department is looking for more pictures to include in the yearbook and newspaper.

***No Open Containers on Campus***
For student’s safety, students are NOT permitted to bring any open containers onto school grounds. These items include those brought from home or purchased on the way to school. If a student does bring an open drink onto campus, they will be asked to throw it away immediately and will not be permitted to finish the drink prior to throwing it away.
***Transportation Notice***
Possibly during a school year your student may be transported by school district transportation to another district campus for a co-curricular activity. These activities do not fall under the heading of a Field Trip or Sport Event thus not requiring written permission. Sports Events and Field Trips will still require a permission form and consent to medical treatment be signed. These forms will be requested by the Athletic Department, Fine Arts Department and various organizations as applicable.
