Barbara Jordan is a fifth and sixth grade campus located northeast of San Antonio in Cibolo, Texas. The campus provides an important transition for students between elementary and middle school focusing on the unique instructional and developmental needs of students in this age group. |

Summer Registration

It’s already time to start thinking about the 2008-2009 school year.
The district is asking parents of all students in pre-kindergarten through ninth grades to go through a registration/enrollment process in early August. Returning sophomores, juniors, and seniors don’t need to formally enroll, but they will need to attend their grade level Preparation Day in August to get ID cards and schedules.
Having ac curate, current information is critical in order for the district to plan for the new school year. It is also important to have up-to-date emergency contact information for each student.
5th and 6th grades: July 31 (8:30am – 6pm) OR August 2 (9am – 12noon) Registration for 5th and 6th graders will be held at your student’s home intermediate campus: Jordan or Wilder |
Here’s what you need for grades PK - 9th:

Picture ID of the parent registering the student. (military or driver’s license) |

The most current proof of residence. (current gas, water, or electric bill) |
3. |
All students who are new to the district will need: shot records, a birth certificate, and a social security card (social security card is optional). |

Pre-K students will need proof of family income, if applying based on income. |
5. |
If you are renting, you must bring a copy of the current, signed lease agreement with rental term dates. |
6. |
If you are building a house in the district, you must bring a signed copy of the builder’s contract to Central Office before visiting the campus. |
7. |
The most current divorce or custody papers and any other legal doc uments concerning guardianship. Power of Attorney documents from 2005-2006 are void and must be renewed for the 2007-2008 school year. |

You will need to complete an AGR card (Age/Grade/Residence). This card also contains emergency contact information. Please have that information with you. |
Please note: Packets may be picked up for new students in grades K-6 on July 23-24, 2008. You may obtain a packet at the student’s “home” campus from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Bring completed packets to registration. Certain registration forms for K-6 students will be posted to the district’s website for you to print and complete prior to registration. Bring completed forms to registration. Thank you for your cooperation in helping the district update records and validate student information. |

Visitor Sign-In Information
We are using a new system our school has acquired to help protect your children -- it's called V-Soft. ~This system helps track visitors, students, faculty, contractors and volunteers at our school, thus providing a safer, more monitored environment for the students.
When visitors, volunteers, or contractors check-in, or parents come to pick up students, they will be asked to present a valid state-issued ID card (driver’s license, state ID, military ID) to be entered with a scanner into the system. ~The system has the ability to provide alerts on people who may jeopardize the safety of the campus. The data collected is exclusively for the use of the school, school district and law enforcement only. This information is NOT sold or shared with any outside sources.
We feel certain this will help us keep our campus a little safer, and ask for your cooperation in presenting your valid state-issued ID card when checking in at the school. ~Thank you in advance for your help in this matter. |
