Previous Board members are prohibited from serving on the Citizens Bond Advisory Committee for a period of one year after leaving office. Vacancies on the committee are filled in the same manner as the original appointment.

The duties of the Committee members include: 1) receiving reports on the current status and planned implementation of the bond program; 2) determining whether such status and implementation are consistent with the program approved by the voters; and 3) reporting their findings and citizen’s questions to the Board. The Committee informs and advises the Board, but does not have decision-making authority.

All communication with district staff is funneled through the Committee Chair that is selected annually by the Committee members. Communication with the public will be made through Committee reports received by the Board and Superintendent at open public meetings.

The Committee meetings will be held quarterly. Additional meetings may be held if requested by the Board of Trustees, the Superintendent or the Committee Chair. Staff reports may be provided to the Committee between meetings when appropriate.
