About the SCUCISD Education Foundation
The SCUCISD Education Foundation is an independent non-profit corporation promoting quality education in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District. The SCUCISD Education Foundation was created in 2008 as a joint effort by the school district and the community to provide additional support for SCUCISD students, teachers, schools, and programs.
Purpose of the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Education Foundation
The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Education Foundation will support educational excellence to enhance student achievement, to recognize exemplary staff involvement and to foster community support and involvement.
Mission of the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Education Foundation
The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Education Foundation will partner with the community to provide resources to enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize innovative opportunities for all students in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District.

Innovative Teaching Grants
Guidelines for Grant Applications

Purpose:
Innovative Teaching Grants are designed to encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward innovative and creative instructional approaches to the accomplishment of program objectives. The Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Education Foundation (SCUCEF) is offering teachers and administrators the opportunity to apply for grants to support innovative programs or projects to support higher levels of student learning. The grants must enhance student academic performance and support the objectives, goals, and initiatives of the Campus Action Plan.
Persons Eligible to Apply for Grants:
Individuals or teams of individuals employed by Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD who are involved in the instruction of students or related support services benefiting students.
Eligible Proposals:
Instructional approaches or projects designed to begin during the 2008-2009 school year and which meet the selection criteria. Grants may fund instructional and classroom materials, parent involvement programs, or any activity or material which supports higher levels of student academic achievement.
Award of Funds:
Grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to individual teacher initiated programs or projects. Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to campus teams, departments and district initiated programs or projects. The number of awards will depend on funds available from SCUCEF.

Kick-Off Breakfast

The Education Foundation will be hosting a breakfast for local business owners and community members to officially kick off the formation of the Foundation. Come learn more about the Foundation at the Breakfast!

2008 Grant Workshop
A Education Foundation held a free workshop on Sept. 17 at Central Office for any SCUCISD employee who was interested in applying for a grant through the SCUCISD Education Foundation. Approximately 60 techers and administrators from the district took advantage of this opportunity.

2008 Academic Recognition Banquet
The Education Foundation held the first-ever Academic Recognition Banquet on May 7, 2008 at the Schertz Civic Center. The event was created to recognized the top graduates from SCUCISD and the employees who were the most influential in their academic careers.
