Upcoming Fine Arts Events:
Steele and Clemens Art Students - Art I, Art II, Art III, Art IV, AP, and IB - will compete at VASE, the visual arts scholastic event on Saturday 14 February at San Marcos High School. Over 2000 area art students will compete with approximately 200 works of art to be selected to compete for the Gold Seal Award given at the State competition in Houston this April.
Paschal Elementary School kindergarten students will perform songs about zoo animals on Tuesday 24 February at 6:30 in the cafeteria.
All high school band students will participate in the annual UIL Solo & Ensemble contest on 28 February at Steele.
CONGRATULATIONS TO...
Michael Gause, a junior trumpet player at Clemens. Michael placed first chair at Area Band and earned a position in the All State Band. He will perform during the annual TMEA Convention in San Antonio February 11-14. Michael was also selected to membership in the Honor Band of America. He will appear in concert with the group in Indianapolis in March.
The Steele High School Band. The Band was given the honor of displaying the American flag during the pre-game ceremonies at the recent Sugar Bowl game in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 2, 2009.
