Drive X is a storage location for computer generated student projects.  It is accessible both at school and home.  The student must have a valid account established at school and use the steps corresponding to the applicable operating system to login from home.  Drive X is intended as a temporary storage site and its size per student is limited.  Old work should be removed and saved elsewhere.

If you are unsuccessful connecting to your x:drive after following these steps, please see the librarian for further instructions.  You may need to check out a CD that contains the required files for x:drive connectivity.

Vista Users:  You must install a Microsoft patch named Webfldrs-KB907306-ENU.exe BEFORE you use the Dobiex link.  You can do a Google search on the file name to download it from the internet.  Save the patch to your computer desktop.  Simply double-click the patch icon to install.

Step 1:  Double click on the red box.   

Step 2:  If this window appears, click Yes to proceed.    

 Step 3:  At the Security Alert window, click Yes to proceed.   

Step 4:  At the Connect to sdnet.scuc.txed.net window,type  

in your Username and Password (in all lowercase characters). 

NOTE:  If your x-drive does not come up fairly quickly, look for another Security Alert window that may be hiding behind this window.

Your x-drive will disconnect after 15 minutes of inactivity. You will have to log in again after this time period.  To disconnect before this time period is up, restart your machine.

IMPORTANT!!!

XP Users:

If the document you wish to work on is a Microsoft Office document (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) you can edit/save it to your x:drive directly. ALL other document types must be saved to your home computer for editing purposes.  The finished/edited file must then be uploaded to your x:drive in order for you to have access to it at school.

Vista Users:
