Triggers

When you login to ParentConnection and are at the Welcome screen, there is now a new link on the left side of the screen labeled Triggers.
Click on the Triggers link and the following screen appears:
To set up the triggers (grades and/or attendance):
1. Click on the Watch Grades checkbox (1).
2. Click on the Below or Above radio button (2).
3. The default choice is Below enter the threshold grade below (or above) which the trigger will be tripped (3).
4. If you want to set a trigger for attendance, click on the Watch Attendance checkbox (4).
5. Click on the Send E-mail checkbox (5) to enable the system to send you an email notification when the trigger has been tripped.
6. Click on the Send Text Message to checkbox and enter your cell phone number, including area code, (6) to have the same notification sent as a text message to your cell phone.
7. When you finish setting up your triggers, click on Update (7) to have the changes take affect
With the Triggers set as described above, if the student’s grade drops below a 70 and trips the trigger, you will receive an email notification (below)
and the same notification as a text message on your cell phone.
When your student has raised his or her grade above the threshold level, the trigger will automatically be reset and you will be notified of the reset and the current grade via email
and text message again.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Once a Trigger has been tripped for one subject area (in our example it was Geometry) it will not send any additional notices for other subject areas (for example, if our student's science grade dropped below the threshold level) until the Geometry grade has risen above the threshold and reset the trigger.
