        Summer has come and gone and we are gearing up for another successful year at Watts!  We appreciate your interest in the PTC, which stands for “Parent Teacher Club”, and encourage you to volunteer in any way that interests you.  Volunteering is a great way to be involved in your child’s education and a golden opportunity to get to know the WONDERFUL Watt’s teachers and staff!!

Criminal History Check
        There are many opportunities to volunteer, BUT FIRST, YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK.  You can do this by stopping by the front office and filling one out.  It usually takes a couple of weeks for it to be completed.  It HAS TO BE ON FILE before you are able to volunteer in the school.

E-MAIL Volunteer List
        THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up to receive emails from the PTC.  It worked out really well last year to contact volunteers via email, so we are going to do it again this year.  If you have not signed up to receive emails, please contact us at watts.ptc@gmail.com and we will add you to the list.

Fundraiser Kick-off
        Our fundraiser kick-off date is Thursday, Sept. 4th.  This is the ONLY school-wide fundraiser conducted at Watts this year.  Last year we raised about $22,000 for our school.  The money we raise funds our budget for the whole school year.  It provides the teachers with money for projects, funds field trips for the students and much more!!  We are really trying to encourage everyone to participate!  Even just ordering one or a couple of items adds up, so any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated!!

“Parents and Friends” Breakfast
        Please join us for the first PAF breakfast on Thursday, Sept. 11th at 9:30 in the cafeteria.  There we will talk a little more about the different opportunities to volunteer throughout the school year.  Breakfast will be served and as always, younger siblings are welcome.
Open House/PTC Meeting/Fall Book Fair
Kinder- Monday, September 22nd at 6:30
1st & 3rd- Tuesday, September 23rd at 6:30
2nd & 4th- Thursday, September 25th at 6:30
****We will need lots of volunteers to help work the book fair****
                                  NOTE:  The book fair will run Monday, Sept. 22nd through Friday, Sept. 26th.

Box Tops and Tyson Labels
        Box Tops and Tyson labels are an easy way to bring income to Watts.  Last year we received a little over $1000 from simply clipping the labels off of items we purchased and sending them in with our children.  Watch the newsletter or website for our first collection date in October and start saving those labels!!

Yearbook Needs Your Help
        Please email any photos you have of students at Watts Elementary events to:  wattsyearbook@gmail.com ….RIGHT NOW, they are looking for pictures you took of the first day of school.
