Accelerated Reader (AR)
* AR is a program where students read books on their reading level. A quiz is taken on the computer, and points are earned, depending on the number of questions answered correctly.
* Each student is given a goal of a certain amount of points to earn. When the goal is met, the student receives recognition by having a star placed on our AR wall (outside the Library). The student then works on their next goal.
* Students meeting certain criteria can attend the end-of-year A.R. Celebration.
K = 10 passed quizzes 1st = 15 passed quizzes 2nd = 20 passed quizzes 3rd = 25 passed quizzes 4th = 30 passed quizzes
All students must maintain an 85% average.
|
|
When can A.R. Quizzes be taken?
* In the Library throughout the day, with teacher's permission.
* Parents may help their child take an AR quiz in the Library in the mornings from 7:45-8:15.
* Students may take quizzes in their classrooms.
