VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

* Welcome to O.G. Wiederstein Elementary!  It's going to be a great year.  The PTC is a volunteer-based organization that finds ways to celebrate students and teachers.  Here are some ways you can become a phenomenal PAL (Parents Assisting in Learning):

Fall Fundraiser

* We need your help double-checking order forms and handing out merchandise.

* Money raised helps fund field trips, the Wiedy Store, and the replacement / improvement of school equipment.

The Wiedy Wonder Store

* We need parents from each grade level to help us run this store at the end of each grading period and at designated times throughout the year.

* This is an incentive program that children love.  They get pretend money based on behavior, achievement, involvement, etc. and get to shop for some really cool stuff.

* This is not a money-making store; it's an award-for-character store.
Library

* We need help shelving, repairing, and organizing books.

* Help is also needed to help out with our Fall and Spring Book Fairs.
Bulletin Boards

* If you are the crafty type, then this is for you!

* We have Birthday, Staff Member of the Week, and Student of the Week bulletin boards that need constant attention.
Teachers Need Help!

* Teachers are always in need of helping hands for field trips, classroom assistance, parties, etc.  Please check with them regularly to see how you can be of assistance.  Your child will LOVE seeing you in the classroom!
Workroom Tubs

*  We need you to cut, staple, fold, and deliver!

* This is a fantastic way to help our wonderful teachers.  Teachers place materials that need to be copied, cut, sorted, etc. for future use in the classroom in the Teacher Tubs.

* It is a HUGE HELP when parents can come into the workroom, grab a tub, and assist with the materials that have been chosen to teach your child.

Campbells/Box Tops/Tyson

* If you are unable to get to school and help out, this is the job for you!

* We need you to look out for these labels, cut them out, and send them with your child to school.

* This is a great way to get your child involved in the grocery shopping process.

* Keep a container in your pantry that is designated for label collection; send labels to school once a month.

* If you can come to school and help out, we need you to organize and prepare labels for shipment back to the manufacturer.
Seasonal "All Hands on Deck" Events

* We need lots of parents to assist in "crowd control" for the    following events:

Jump Rope for Heart
Bike Rodeo
Field Day

* If interested in volunteering, please see a PTC Board member or inform your child's teacher.

Way to Go!!
Thanks to all who participated in our fall fundraiser! We raised close to $10,000!!
One Man's Junk is Another Man's Treasure!
Donate your old and/or unwanted items for our Spring Fling & Clean Rummage Sale in March. Box/bag the goods and label them PTC. Turn them in at the front desk.
Keep Collecting those Labels!
Collect Box Tops, Campbell's, and Tyson A+ labels all year! Place labels in bag/envelope with your child's teacher's name. There is an ongoing contest between all classes - classes compete to reach label levels and win various prizes all year.
Recycling
Bring all the old ink cartridges and old cell phones and place in the drop box in the main entrance area. The school gets money for every item turned in.
Camp Invention Collection
Camp Invention is a fantastic summer camp that kids love! Please bring in CLEAN recyclables (jars, bottles, plastics, glass, paper, cardboard, and electronics) to Mrs. Moltz.
