Steele girl's cross country team wins district title
Congratulations to the Varsity Girls Cross Country Team for winning District. The event was held Oct. 29 at Starke Park. This is the third time in five years that the girls cross country team has won district.  

Elena Gumbs placed first and made 1st Team All-District. Taylor Glasz placed 4th, and Caroline Brunson placed 10th. Both were named to the All-District team. Angela Herbelin earned a medal for 12th place, Sarah DiBiasi placed 22nd, Alyssa McLean placed 26th and Sabrina Nelson placed 34th. They will compete in the Regional meet at 2 p.m. this Saturday (Nov. 7) at Brooks City Base.  

The girls JV team placed third overall medaling as a team. Alexandra Sweaney and Rebekah Hutchison placed 6th and 7th in the top ten medaling individually along with the rest of their team to include Danielle Shick, Victoria Bankes, Devin Bohman, Angelina Perez, Jorey Cline and Madison Spase.

The Varsity boys team had an exceptional showing even though they competed individually. All three of them - Nick Secrest, Michael Koernig and Alexis Rodriguez - hit a personal record..

The Junior Varsity boys team also placed third as a team overall. Malichi Merski led the team medaling in 6th place. The other members of the team that medaled consisted of Ryan Perfect, Julian Saucedo, Mark Sison, Cameron Alpers, David Paez, Clayton Ebeling and Trent Biggs. Good luck at Regionals!
