Daily Schedule
8:00-8:50 Flex time
8:55-9:15 Pre-K/PPCD
9:15-10:05 4th grade
10:05-12:30 Flex Time
1:00-1:15 Pre-K
1:15-3:00 Flex time
**During flex time, kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades will be coming to the library with their regular classroom teacher.
During this time, the students will:
check-in and check-out books,
engage in stories, reading and writing lessons,
do research,
and use the computers.
ACCELERATED READER
Accelerated Reader is a program that allows students to read books on their reading level. A quiz is taken on the computer and points are earned, depending on the number of questions answered correctly.
Each nine weeks, the library hosts a special AR Celebration. Students are invited to attend the AR celebration if they've earned a predetermined amount of AR points for the nine-week grading period.
These are the celebrations that the students were able to enjoy this year:
1st 9 weeks--"Go Hog Wild About Books" Beast Feast
2nd 9 weeks -- Reading Winter Wonderland
3rd 9 weeks -- Books are Magic!
The library also hosts an AR carnival towards the end of each school year. Students earn a ticket for each AR point that they've earned throughout the year. There are a variety of games and activities for the students to enjoy. A special thanks goes out to our parents who volunteered this year to help out at our AR carnival.
