Hello! My name is Carole Asbury, and I’m excited to be your librarian at Jordan Intermediate School! I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself, and I hope that through the year I’ll get to know more about you!
I was born and attended elementary through high school in San Antonio. After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in educatioin from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) I taught third, fourth, and fifth grades in the North East and Katy Independent School Districts for twenty years. That’s a long time! I decided a few years ago that I wanted to become a librarian, so I went to the University of Texas at Austin to get a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, and here I am at Jordan Intermediate!
I love reading (are you surprised?), movies (especially scary ones!), listening to music, playing games online, participating in community theater, and singing to my granddaughter (I have to catch her when she’s just waking up from a nap!).
I'm looking forward to my second year of being a librarian! Let me know if there's any way I can be of help during the year.
