I will not use ‘put downs’ or harass others.

I will respect other people’s differences and opinions.

I will respect the property of others.

Respect for School

I will enter and exit the room quietly, and walk quietly in a line throughout the school.

I will actively listen when the teacher is speaking.

I will raise my hand when I want to speak.

I will respect the authority of all teachers and administrators.

Behavior Guidelines

The following are the expectations set forth in our classes:

Be positive and polite

Respect all property

Stay on task

Be on time AND prepared for each class

Accept responsibility for your actions

Examples of behaviors that do NOT meet the expectations set forth in our classes:

Disrupting the classroom learning environment

Coming to class without homework and/or supplies

Coming late to class without a pass

Disrespecting your teacher and/or classmates

Consequences

1. Student will log his/her name and the inappropriate behavior in the behavior log. Each teacher maintains a separate behavior log for his/her class.

2.  Lunch d-hall is assigned after the student logs his/her name into the behavior log 2 times within a 2-week time frame (this is per teacher). Students serving lunch d-hall will also miss recess for the day.

3.  Parents will be contacted as of the 3rd behavior infraction within a 2-week time frame in addition to a lunch d-hall.

4. If a student logs 4 or more inappropriate behaviors within a 2-week time frame, he/she will also receive a red planner signature in addition to the lunch d-hall and parent contact.

Students receiving 9 red planner signatures within a 9-week time frame will receive an office referral.

5. Students who receive 4 or more lunch detentions within a 9-week time frame will not be eligible to attend the “Star Club.” (See below for more details on this reward).

6.  After each 2-week period, the teacher will begin a new behavior log for his/her class; however, the logs will be kept by the teacher for reference (if necessary).

NOTE: If the misbehavior is overly disruptive, the student could receive a red planner signature or be sent directly to our administrators for further discipline.

Lunch Detention Rules:

1. Students must report on time to the designated d-hall room, which will rotate between the POD C teachers.

2.  Students must complete the "Lunch D-Hall” form.

3.  No talking during detention.

4.  Must remain seated.

5.  If lunch detention is skipped, it will be doubled and parents will be notified.

Rewards

At the end of each 9-week period, students will be invited to the “Star Club.”

The “Star Club” is held on the Friday before the last week of each 9-week period. This is our way of showing appreciation for those students who maintained a high level of academic and behavioral excellence during the 9-week grading period. Together, we will determine the activities that will take place on this special reward day.

Admittance to the “Star Club” will be dependent on the following:

1. Zero missing assignments during the 9-week period from Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Any missing assignments will be completed during the Star Club.

2.  Serving less than four lunch detentions during a 9-week period.

3.  Zero office referrals during a 9-week period.
