 Welcome to Mrs. Wagner's 6th Grade Social Studies Class! Hello! I am so looking forward to another awesome school year here at Barbara Jordan Intermediate. I am especially glad to have you as a part of my class. Together, we will study geography, world cultures, world current events, and world history. We will connect past and present events of our world with your personal experiences. By doing so, Social Studies will become more meaningful and important.
A Bit About Me:
I was born and raised in San Antonio. This will be my 5th year as a teacher at Barbara Jordan; however, it will be my first year to teach Social Studies and I am up for the challenge. After graduating from Texas State University with a degree in Business Management, I worked several years for USAA; all the while, though, I felt a need to fulfill my real passion as a teacher. I went back to Texas State and obtained my teacher certification and master's degree. Most recently, I received my administration certification from UTSA with the hope of one day becoming a Vice Principal (although right now I am pretty content with my teaching position).
My husband and I have two wonderful boys, Tyler (7th grader at Dobie) and our little guy Trent (who will turn 2 in November). Oh yes I must mention my dog, Evie, who firmly believes she is also our child.
