Our High School Choral Mission Statement
In the SCUC community, choral music is a collaborative effort to enrich, inspire and challenge students through the art of choral singing. The choral curriculum is academically based in the core curriculum of TEA requirements to insure musical proficiency for all students.
Students are offered a cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary view of the choral art, experiencing a deeply textured and varied musical palate.
To enable SCUC choral students full participation in the art of choral music as adults,
students receive extensive training in musical literacy, vocal production, and an ever widening array of music styles and performances.
Young performers are encouraged to participate in the UIL and Texas Music Educators competitive festivals, as well as seasonal community and school performances. Those students wishing to pursue music in college studies will appreciate the professional level of performance expected by the faculty and community. All students are urged to cultivate and enhance their ability to live as lifelong participates in the art of singing.
