Hello and welcome to the homepage for Journalism, Theory of Knowledge, Speech Communication and the Gifted and Talented Progrm.
Students who enter these courses and programs will soon learn that not thinking is not an option.
Rather than consuming as much information as possible with increasingly short attention spans, we will learn to turn data into information, information into knowledge and, just maybe,  knowledge into wisdom. The events that affect our world are pertinent to this generation of students, and all of these courses give students the opportunity to look at real world issues and situations and use the globe as their classroom as they seek to understand their world so that they can make a difference.
I look forward to the opportunity to learn more about each one of you and to help you learn to "drink deep" as you learn more about the world and yourself as a citizen of the globe.

Parents will find information about student photos, yearbook and newspaper, projects, Communications Class, the Theory of Knowledge class, and the Gifted and Talented program on this website.
Please see the Features side bar at the right of the page for up-to-date announcements and information in all areas.
This webpage is also intended to help Clemens journalism students organize their work schedules and track their assignments.
Information pertinent to International Baccalaureate Programme students enrolled in the Theory of Knowledge course will also be posted here.
Because of changes in student information and publication law, the Clemens Correspondent monthly newspaper will no longer be available on the Clemens website.

For information concerning Gifted and Talented, please also see the Gifted and Talented page on this website.

GT Convention opportunity
Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented will hold its annual Educator and Parent Conference in Dallas this fall. For more information, please go to the TAGT link on this webpage or see www.txgifted.org for more information.
YEARBOOKS ONLINE
Most Clemens parents received an invoice in the mail from Taylor Publishing Company's Smart Pay department. However, if you indicated on your student's Green Student Information Release form, that you did not want your name release to vendors, then you did not receive an invoive. Please go to www.smart-pay.com if you would like to order a yearbook.
Temporary move
I am temporarily in Room B212--probably through December break.
GT Program evaluation--Coming Soon!
Students who are involve with Clemens Gifted and Talented Program will soon have the opportunity to evaluate last year's program and provide input for planning the projects and focus for the year ahead. Ask your GT student for an evaluation if you would like to take part in the evaluation process.
GT Field Days
GT students from the SCUC ISD district (318 of them) participated in Clemens GT Field Days Oct 17, 20 and 21. The students both participated and facilitated in an array of activities including Vote for Disney!, MoMenthos Explosions, and Go for the Blue and Gold Quiz Relay. We used problem solving skills just to find a place to hold the event, since Clemens construction challenged us at every turn, but the event was still fun and successful. Thanks to all who helped and supprted, including our local LOWE's store, which contributed the roller coaster building components. Many thanks!
