I always need LOTS of volunteers for Field Day which is in May.  If you are interested, you must see Mrs. Walkup in the office to make sure your background form has been completed.  A new one has to be completed each school year.  The following information was sent home in February.

Dear Parents or Guardians,

In order to make the Schertz Elementary campus as safe and secure as possible for all students, visitors, and staff the following policies have been put into place:

Every adult entering the campus must have a current U.S. driver's license, U.S. or military ID, and be listed on the student's AGR card in order to:

* Pick up a student

* Have lunch with a student

* Participate in any school or classroom event

* Volunteer on campus

* Attend field trips (A background check from the district HR dept is required)

If you have family or friends planning to visit the campus for any of the above reasons, please make certain they are listed on your child's AGR card.  If they are not, please notify the office iwth a phone call (945-6075) or by note.  All notes should be dated, signed by a parent or guardian, and include the student's name, teacher's name, and name of friend or family member.  Please include a contact number for you as well.  These policies are in effect immediately and must be followed for admittance to the campus.  We greatly appreciate your compliance and cooperation in this matter.

These guidelines will apply to Field Day.  You will not be allowed to volunteer without a completed background check.  Please contact me and I will mail you a form and you may return it to Mrs. Walkup.  This needs to be done ASAP.  If you would like to watch your child during the events, check in with the office staff for the necessary pass.  Every person on the field must have a pass from the office.  Thank you for understanding that the safety of our kids is very important to us!
