Welcome to
Mr. Walker's Math Class
Greetings and salutations.
I am eagerly anticipating another great year at Barbara Jordan Intermediate School. I look forward to seeing each of you in class every day. My classes will include students in Math as well as Pre-AP Math this year. We will use a variety of books, projects and web sites to learn math. I expect to learn as much from my students as they will learn from me.

My Background
I received my teaching credentials from St. Mary's University in San Antonio where I continue to work on a Master's Degree in School Administration. I am certified to teach Math, Science and Reading. This is my fourth year at Jordan and I look forward to many more.
Before becoming a teacher I had a different career; I spent 26 years in the U. S. Air Force. I joined the Air Force in 1978 after graduating from the Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography. Most of my career was spent flying a variety of aircraft, including the T-37,T-38, T-41 and the KC-135. While in the Air Force I taught others to fly in the T-37, T-41 and KC-135 and decided I enjoyed teaching so much I wanted to continue after I retired from the Air Force. My last few years in the Air Force were spent in an office where I worked buying new aircraft and equipment.
When I am not teaching I spend my time at home in San Antonio with my wife. Our son graduated from Texas A & M and now lives in Dallas. My wife and I have both a cat and a fish to take care of in our free time.
