I am the 7th Grade Applied Literacy teacher and one of the 7th Grade ELA teachers.  I also do the Tier 2 Intervention for 7th Grade ELA.  In addition, I am one of the Meet in the Middle Club sponsors.  Mrs. Sandy Childress is my co-sponsor.  I look forward to an exciting and productive year.

SCUCISD will start off the school year with our remote learning program on August 13th.  It is called SCUC @ Home.  I will use Google Classroom to assign classwork and communicate with students.  Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.  Parents may email me at: cherring@scuc.txed.net .  I make every effort to return emails and calls within 24-48 hours.

  • Here are just a few 7th grade book suggestions.  You may Google other books that are appropriate for your child.

For UNIT 1, students will need a FICTION novel of their choice for ELA lessons.  This unit lasts about 3 weeks.  It may NOT be a graphic novel or a picture book.  It needs to be at least 100 pages and be age/grade appropriate.
