Allison Steele is the drop-out prevention high school for the Schertz, Cibolo, Universal City Independent School District. Students must qualify as "at-risk" of dropping out of high school as specified by the state of Texas in order to be considered. Students are required to have earned 10 or more credits and have passed the 9th grade STAAR EOC tests to be considered for admittance. Once the home high school counselor has determined that the student is "at-risk", then the student can begin the application process.
Students attend Allison Steele a minimum of four hours a day. They are assigned to either the morning or the afternoon session. All student class work is completed under the guidance of an appropriately certified teacher. The student-teacher ratio is small and allows for close interaction between the student and the teacher.
Allison L. Steele ELC was established in 1994 and has helped hundreds of potential high school drop-outs become successful and move one step closer to fulfilling their life goals. We are a Texas accredited high school.
