SAT School Day, Wednesday, March 4, 2020
We are excited about joining with College Board to implement the SAT in a Day program and provide our currently enrolled junior students with the opportunity to take the SAT during the school day at Steele.
On March 4, 2020, all students who are enrolled at Steele and are classified as juniors will have the opportunity to take the Standard SAT without Writing during the school day at no charge to you. If your student is classified as a junior, he/she will automatically be registered to take this test.
As part of this testing opportunity, students will also be able to send their scores for free to four Colleges, Universities, or Scholarship programs of their choice. During the SAT pre-administration process, students will enter the Codes for the programs they choose. These codes must be entered on their testing documents at this time in order to send their scores for free. Since there are numerous programs to choose from, we recommend that you begin looking now at the document found at the link below, so that you and your student can decide where they want to send their four free score reports. Students should write down the codes for their four choices and bring them with them to their English class on February 24-25. We don't want them to miss out on this opportunity.
Below is an additional link which has the codes for different College Majors that students can also indicate as part of their SAT.

If you would like for your student to practice and/or prepare prior to taking this test, there are several options to assist with that. A great place to start, and a free option for students, is through the partnership which has been established between College Board and the Khan Academy. Khan Academy provides practice for SAT testing as well as help for students with their regular academic subjects.
You can access this free tool by clicking on the link below.
Another option to prepare for the SAT is the Prep Course which is offered by the district. There is a $50 fee for this course. More information about it can be found by accessing the pamphlet found at this link:
