In order to best prepare our students for post-secondary life, SCUCISD has joined with College Board to implement the SAT in a Day program. All juniors will have the opportunity to take the SAT, a test that normally costs $55, during the school day on March 2, 2022 at no charge. The SAT is a nationally recognized college admission test that lets students show colleges what they know and how well they can apply that knowledge. It tests knowledge of reading, writing, and math — subjects that are taught every day in high school classrooms to help prepare them for college or careers. In addition to college admissions, the SAT may be used to show post-secondary readiness.
All juniors will be pre-registered for the test and will have an opportunity to verify their demographic information prior to the start of the test. We recommend that students create a College Board account if they have not done so already. In order to create an account, students must have a valid email address. All juniors will take the English and Math sections of the test at no charge on March 2nd.

As part of this testing opportunity, students will also be able to send their scores to four Colleges, Universities, or Scholarship programs of their choice for free. During the SAT pre-administration process, students will be given the opportunity to enter the codes for the Colleges/Programs they choose. These codes must be entered on their testing documents at testing time in order to send the scores for free. Below you will find a link to a document with the questions students are asked when completing the testing information, which also contains the list of codes for the Colleges, Universities, and Scholarship programs. There are numerous schools and programs to choose from, so we recommend that you look at this document now and begin talking with your child about the things they are interested in pursuing. We don't want them to miss out on this free opportunity.Link to Codes for Colleges, Universities, and Scholarship programs: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/sat-sd-sample-student-questionnaire.pdf
Here is an additional link that has a document which explains the benefits of the SAT and gives some helpful information. (https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/pdf/sat-benefits-students-flyer.pdf)
All students who are testing should arrive at school by 8:20 am on Wednesday, March 2nd.
If you would like for your student to get some addtional practice prior to taking this test, a great place to start, and a free option for students, is through the partnership which has been established between College Board and the Khan Academy. Khan Academy provides practice for SAT testing as well as help for students with their regular academic subjects.
