Requesting Volunteers

  • Need Volunteers?

The members of the Byron P. Steele Chapter of the National Honor Society serve their community by volunteering individually and through group service projects.  If you have an event that we might consider for a group service project, please send a letter of request and all relevant details to:  Mrs. Hargett, Faculty Advisor, National Honor Society, Steele High School, 1300 FM 1103, Cibolo, Texas, 78108 or via email to: mhargett@scuc.txed.net.

    Guidelines for Requesting NHS Volunteers:

Requests should be sent at least 2 months in advance - We meet twice a month.  Requesting at least 2 months in advance ensures the opportunity for Steele NHS members to meet, vote, and sign up for your event.

Service events are limited to non-profit, charitable organizations - Examples of service projects include:  helping out at school Open House events, Habitat for Humanity, school carnivals, volunteering at local Animal Shelters/Humane Society, etc.

Short-term, defined start and end times - Due to the busy academic and extra-curricular schedules that our members maintain, projects must be short-term.

Treatment of NHS Volunteers - Please remember that these students are young adults and should be treated as such.
