Assignments

  • Homework:

     

    Homework is due at the beginning of the class; failure to turn it in will result in a grade of zero. Students with excused absences will be allowed to turn in paperwork according with the Student/Parent Handbook. It is your responsibility to keep notes about homework and due dates.

     

    Student Homework Responsibilities:

    a. Understanding the homework assignment(s) before leaving the classroom and taking home all necessary materials to complete assignment(s)

    b. Having a regular time to study that is compatible with family and/or after-school activities.

    c. Completing homework and turning it in ON TIME.

    d. Planning and budgeting time for long-term projects.

    e. Completing all work missed because of absences or school activities.

     

    Late Work:

     

     Late Work Students are encouraged to complete all assignments by their assigned due date to earn full credit. Late work will be deducted 25% from the grade earned for late assignments.

    Students have 5 school days to turn in late work, but the student shall not exceed the end of the 9 week grading period.   

     

     Re-test: 

     

    Re-testing  shall not exceed the end of the 9 week grading period.  Re-testing may include but is not limited to oral examination, additional practice activities, an essay or paper, a report or presentation, test corrections, revision of a paper or project, formal test or quizzes.

    Students will be allowed to re-test  only within 5 days of the original test or assignment. Retest will be conducted after the student attends a tutoring session and with previous arrangements with the teacher.

     The grade on the re-test will be recorded as no higher than a 70 IF mastery is demonstrated.
