Welcome to Steele Art. Our program is strong and grows with each new year because of the commitment of both the teachers and the students to find new ways to see the world. We work on building basic skills that are the stepping stones to future creativity in Art I and students will explore as many mediums as time allows. In each subsequent level of Art students will not only continue to develop skills and knowledge but will also explore art as a conceptual tool and a metaphor for the world in which they live.
I have been lucky enough to be a part of the Steele program since the school first opened. I am starting my 28th year teaching art and taught previously both at Clemens and Seguin. I am blessed with 3 wonderful kids and a husband that keep me busy when I'm not at school and friends and family that make each day a new reason to smile. I consider myself a very smart person because I know enough to surround myself with people who make my job easier. Ms. Vargas is a dynamic teacher who not only inspires the students but also inspires me with her talent and ideas. Mr. Russell is bringing new ideas and inspiration to our programs especially in the Art 1 classes. I hope you are ready to take on the adventure that is Art!
