1.Will school meals free for ALL students for the 2022-2023 school year?
School meals will no longer be free for ALL students during 2022-2023. Households must fill out a free and reduced-price meal application.

2. Can I fill out a Free & Reduced Meal Program Application online?
Yes, visit the website below to fill out an application. https://schertzcucisd.rocketscanapps.com/Default.aspx
If you received a letter of approval due to "Direct Certification", you do not have to fill out an application.

3. Must I fill out a Free & Reduced Meal Program Application for each of my children?
No, only one application per family is needed.

4. Must I apply for the Meal Program each school year?
Yes, a new application must be filled out each school year in order to see if you qualify for free and reduced price meal benefits.

5. My child is on the Meal Program, can they get "only milk"? What about Snack Bar purchases?
The student must select a full meal from the menu items offered to receive it for the free/reduced price. Individual items, such as milk, can be purchased at the a la carte price. Snack Bar purchases will be at the a la carte price.

6. What happens to my child's cafeteria account at the end of the school year?
Cafeteria account balances are carried forward each school year. The funds will remain in the account even if your child transfers to another school within SCUCISD.

7. If my child is approved for the Meal Program is it retroactive to the first day of school?
No. You are responsible for all meal purchases prior to application approval.

8. Is there a fee to use www.mySchoolBucks.com?
Viewing your child's cafeteria purchases is free. There's a $2.45 fee for each online payment transaction. (Make payments for all your children in one easy step, even if they attend different schools in the district. Pay one fee for one transaction.)

9. When will my online payment be in my child's cafeteria account? How long before it shows online?
Money deposited into www.mySchoolBucks.com will usually arrive at the school by the next morning. Deposit confirmations are sent directly to your email account.

10. When paying online, I enter my credit/debit card information. A message says it couldn't be processed.
The address you entered must be identical to the address listed on your credit/debit card. If they are not, the card issuer will not accept the transaction.

11. How can I tell if my child has a positive or negative balance?
A negative balance will be in parentheses.

12. Does www.mySchoolBucks.com give notification of Low Balances?
You can set your low balance settings to remind you when it's time to add more money, or set up recurring payments so the system will automatically add money to the account when your balance reaches the threshold you set.

13. If I added money to my child's meal account instead of the campus account (fees/dues/yearbooks/other campus items), what do I do?
You can request a refund by calling the Child Nutrition Office at 210-945-6045. Unfortunately, we are not able to move the funds from the meal account to the campus account and vice versa. It takes approximately 10 to 14 days to receive a refund check in the mail.

14. I am having issues logging in to www.myschoolbucks.com, what do I do?
You will need to call Heartland Solutions, the company that operates MySchoolBucks. The phone number is 1-855-832-5226

15. How can I limit what my student can purchase on his/her meal account?
You can call the campus manager or the Child Nutrition Office to set daily spending limits. You can also designate whether your student can purchase a la carte items.
