Habit 1: Be Proactive
This means to take responsibility for your choices and behaviors. Do not get easily offended. Find a way to make things happen in a positive way. As human beings, we are responsible and in charge of our own life. Young children learn early to understand the different choices they make, yield different results.
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
Begin each day with a task or clear understanding of how you want the direction of your day to go. Have a plan of action.
Habit 3: Put First Things First
Decide what is most important and take care of those things first. This habit involves organizing and managing time. This is a priceless tool that every child should learn.
Habit 4: Think Win-Win
Everyone can win not just me, or you. Both of us can win in every situation. Having this mindset teaches children to compromise and be happy for others when good things happen to them.
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
This habit deals with communication, the most important skill in life. It is important to first understand someone’s point of view or needs. Once we can do that, then we can influence and be understood ourselves.
Habit 6: Synergize
Combined actions and efforts often create a better product with the desired effects being positive. It is important to value the strengths and differences of others, as those traits offer us new opportunities to grow and learn.
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
This habit focuses on finding balance in your life. Take time to engage in activities that help rejuvenate you. Spend some time doing things you like to do.
