I was born and raised in Uvalde, TX. I come from a family of educators at the secondary and collegiate levels. My wife is a wonderful dual language elementary school teacher in New Braunfels.
Education:
B.A. in Psychology (w/honors) - Texas A&M University at College Station, TX
Graduate of 77th Basic Training School of the University of Texas at Austin Policy Academy (Top Cadet)
M.A. in Political Science (Magna cum Laude) - Texas State University
Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration (Summa cum Laude) - Walden University- Dissertation - Attack at Fort Hood: Experiences and Suggestions for Security
In 2009, I received my certification to teach Math, Reading, Social Studies, and Science for grades 4-8 and my High School Social Studies Composite certification. I am also an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Texas State University. I am published in the peer reviewed journal, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism.
2019-2020 is my seventh year teaching and my twelfth year working with high school aged students. I have worked in corporate America, been a successful small business owner, and spent several years as a police officer. I enjoy reading, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
I am very excited to be teaching at Steele HS and being a part of my students' educational experience. We are going to have a great year!
