Students receiving special education services who have an individualized education plan are eligible to continue receiving services through the 18-21 transition programs.
Students must meet all minimum requirements for graduation and are working within the continuum of transition services in order to complete implementation of their Individual Education Plan (IEP). Students receive a diploma once all IEP requirements have been met.
Individualized supports for a successful transition to adult life are provided in the areas of employment, independent living, and recreational activities. Each young adult's daily schedule is based upon his or her post-secondary goals, IEP goals, and objectives developed with the collaboration of the student, parents, teachers, and adult agencies.
Depending on the level of need and the recommendation by the ARD Committee, appropriate placement is made between the Anchor and Compass programs.
