General Information

We are using the Really Great Reading phonics program at Watts Elementary.  This curriculum helps students learn spelling patterns, consonant and vowel rules, and how to read multi-syllabic words. We are also doing the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum for reviewing manuscript, and we will soon be starting cursive instruction. Please encourage your child to hold his or her pencil correctly, with the thumb and first two fingers in a tripod grip.

Coming to school all day, every day with no rest time is very demanding for our students  Enjoy your child each afternoon and ask about what we did in class that day.
