COVID 19 Parent Letter

  • Dear JORDAN Intermediate Parents and Guardians,

I would like to take a moment to talk to you about what counseling services will look like during school closures. Please be assured that I will continue to support your child during this time.

I will be providing guidance lessons and sending out information for all students through my Google Classroom. The code to login to the Google Classroom are:

-- JORDAN 6h Grade Counseling:  Google Classroom Code --  mcd3sfn

-- JORDAN 5th Grade Counseling:  Google Classroom Code -- tmugyus

Typically the school counseling program offers resources to help students succeed in their academic goals, as well as support social and emotional growth throughout the school year. Because of the change to remote/virtual learning, supporting your student will look different. However, I want to assure you that you and your student will still have access.

If you or your child needs some additional assistance or if you have any questions or concerns, you can reach out to me at  roswalt@scuc.txed.net or Lyana Garcia, Communities in Schools counselor, at  lygarcia@scuc.txed.net . You can also leave a message on my work number 210-619-4257, and I will return your call. If your child needs additional services and would like to speak via the phone, please email me and we can discuss how we can do a brief check in.

If your family is in need of any social services such as McKinney Vento or Foster Care, you may still contact our district social worker at rrodriguez@scuc.txed.net or at 210-945-6443. If you leave a message, she will call you back. You may also visit the social services page on the district website. As a reminder, breakfast and lunch is still being provided to students who qualify. These meals may be picked up at Schertz Elementary.

Finally, we have provided some links that may assist you in supporting your child through this time. You and your child will get through this. We will all work together to continue to help your child grow.

    Thank you,

    ______________
