    GBRA Scholarship Program

    • Graduating High School Seniors residing in GBRA’s 10-county service area (Kendall, Comal, Hays, Caldwell, Guadalupe, Gonzales, DeWitt, Victoria, Calhoun and Refugio) are eligible to apply.
    • Students have an overall “B” average or higher.
    • Applications will be reviewed and awarded by a selection committee chosen by GBRA.
    • In the event the scholarship recipient receives financial assistance from other sources that would constitute a full scholarship, the recipient shall notify the GBRA Scholarship Coordinator and relinquish rights to the scholarship. The scholarship shall then be awarded to the runner-up, if that applicant continues to meet all criteria.

    • Current SCUC ISD high school seniors (Clemens, Steele, Allison Steele) graduating 2021-2022 school year who have been accepted by a college/university and are seeking a degree leading to teacher certification.

    GVEC Scholarship

    • Applicant’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must have an active GVEC electric account in their name.
    • Applicant must be a 2021-22 high school graduate and be able to meet all admission requirements of the college, university or trade school selected.
    • Applicant must agree to attend classes as prescribed by the school’s curriculum for the semester in which tuition is paid.
    • In all cases, the Cooperative will have the final decision on eligibility of each applicant, and, if for any reason an applicant is found to be ineligible by the Scholarship Selection Committee, the scholarship shall not be awarded.
    • Children of the GVEC Board of Directors and employees are not eligible for this scholarship.

    The National Scholarship

    • Have DACA; TPS; or came to the country before November 1, 2016, and otherwise meet the DACA criteria;
    • Came to the United States before the age of 16 (if you were born in the U.S. – you are not eligible for our scholarship);
    • Have significant unmet financial need;
    • Have graduated or will graduate from a United States high school (or have earned or will earn a high school equivalency diploma) by the end of the 2021-22 academic year;
    • Graduated or will graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or better on a 4.0 scale;
    • Have not earned more than 21 credits in a community college or a 4-year college or university before the Fall of 2022 (not counting credits earned in a pre-college or dual enrollment program in high school);
    • Intend to enroll full-time in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at a Partner College no later than the Spring term of 2022-23 academic year;
    • Are eligible for in-state tuition at the Partner College you want to attend (not applicable if it is a private Partner College).

    • Identify as Asian American / Pacific Islander
    • Have a track record of involvement and interest in AAPI communities, issues, or causes
    • Have demonstrated financial need for the scholarship
    • Be a US citizen, resident or foreign national

    • To be considered for the Buck Fever scholarship, the applicant must show an interest in the outdoors or outdoor-related activities. Major course of study that emphasizes outdoor, science, or agriculture is not a requirement, but will be given priority.
