Parents: The SCUCISD Transportation Department is requesting your assistance in reviewing the following School Bus Safety Rules with your child.   Please stress to your student that these rules are important and help ensure everyone arrives to school/home SAFELY. 

1. Cooperate with the Transportation Staff at all times—work together to maintain a SAFE bus for everyone.
2. Be present at the stop at least 5 minutes prior to the designated bus arrival time.
3. Wait in an orderly line, away from the curb, before carefully, courteously, and SAFELY boarding.  Never run to, from, or around the bus.
4. Wait for the driver to signal it is SAFE before crossing the street--at least 10 feet in front of the bus.
5. Remain SAFELY seated in assigned seats keeping the center aisle clear of belongings, feet, etc.
6. Food is not allowed on the school bus due to choking hazards and food allergies.  Drinking water from a clear container is allowed.
7. The School Dress Code applies on the bus.
8. Keep head, hands, and belongings SAFELY inside bus windows.  Throwing objects in or out of the bus is not allowed.
9. Unacceptable language, gestures or actions will not be tolerated.  Talk quietly.  No pushing or shoving.
10. Be respectful of other people and their property.  Bullying is not respectful or SAFE and is not allowed.
11. Students who damage SCUCISD property will be charged for the damages and will be referred to the appropriate campus administration for disciplinary action.
12. Large items such as band instruments/class projects, which are too large to be held in the student’s lap and/or obstruct the driver’s view, will not be allowed on the bus.
13. Students will get on/get off the bus at the approved stop. 
14. SCUCISD Student Code of Conduct is to be followed at all times.
15. The SCUCISD, as permitted by the State Board of Education, provides transportation for the normal school day to eligible students.  A student who cannot follow the Transportation School Bus Safety Rules will be subject to disciplinary action that could result in the loss of bus privileges.

NOTE:  All buses are subject to video camera surveillance.

 NORMAS DE SEGURIDAD EN EL TRANSPORTE ESCOLAR

Padres: El Departamento de Transporte del SCUCISD solicita su apoyo para que repasen con su hijo(a) las siguientes normas de seguridad en el transporte escolar. Por favor recálquenle a su hijo(a) que estas reglas son importantes y ayudan a asegurar que todos lleguen SANOS Y SALVOS a la escuela/casa. 

1. Cooperar con el personal del transporte en todo momento—trabajar juntos para mantener un autobús SEGURO para todos.
2. Estar en la parada del autobús por lo menos 5 minutos antes de la hora designada de llegada del camión.
3. Esperar en formación ordenada, lejos de la banqueta, antes de subir al autobús con cuidado, con cortesía y de manera SEGURA.  Nunca correr del camión, hacia el camión, ni alrededor de él.
4. Esperar a que el conductor de la señal asegurando que es SEGURO cruzar la calle—por lo menos 10 pies enfrente del autobús.
5. Permanecer sentado de manera SEGURA en el lugar asignado manteniendo el pasillo central libre de pertenencias, pies, etc.
6. No comer, mascar chicle, ni beber en el camión. Sí se permite beber agua en un recipiente transparente.
7. El código de vestido se aplica en el autobús.
8. Como medida de SEGURIDAD, no sacar por las ventanas la cabeza, manos, ni pertenencias. Arrojar objetos hacia adentro o afuera del autobús no está permitido.
9. No se tolerarán lenguaje, gestos, ni acciones inaceptables. Hablar en voz baja. No empujar ni aventar.
10. Respetar a los demás al igual que sus pertenencias. Los abusos no muestran respeto, ponen en riesgo la SEGURIDAD y no se permiten.
11. Los estudiantes que dañen la propiedad del SCUCISD tendrán que pagar los daños y serán reportados a los directores del campus correspondiente para medidas disciplinarias.
12. No se permitirán en el autobús artículos grandes como instrumentos de banda/proyectos de tarea que sean demasiado grandes para ser llevados en las piernas del estudiante y/o que obstruyan la visión del conductor.
13. Los estudiantes se subirán/bajarán del autobús en la parada autorizada. Para cambiar de parada, los padres deben firmar y someter la documentación apropiada.
14. Se debe seguir en todo momento el Código de Conducta del Estudiante del SCUCISD.
15. Conforme lo permite el Departamento de Educación, el SCUCISD proporciona transporte durante días normales de clases a los estudiantes que califican. Cualquier estudiante que no pueda seguir las Normas de Seguridad en el Transporte Escolar quedará sujeto a acción disciplinaria que pudiese resultar en la pérdida del privilegio de viajar en autobuses escolares.

NOTA: Todos los camiones quedan sujetos a vigilancia con cámaras de video.
