Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Yowell
I grew up in Southern California and moved to Texas in 2007. I started college at as a math major at Whittier College, but ended up graduating with a degree in Business. I obtained my teaching credential from California State University, Fullerton, and my first teaching jobs were in junior high and high school, teaching computers, math, college and career preparation, and other business courses. When I moved to Texas, I became a Campus Instructional Technologist, helping schools integrate technology within the classrooms.
When my husband and I had our daughter in 2010, I stayed home for several years. When I volunteered in my daughter's school library, I knew that was where I wanted to spend the rest of my career. I earned my master's in Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University and began as a librarian in 2020. It is the BEST job on campus! Guiding students in their choices of learning and helping them tell their own stories and find their voices inspires me to keep trying to make this world a better place!
