RESETTING YOUR PASSWORD

  • HOW TO RESET YOUR PASSWORD

    If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it using an automated process. 

     Under Forgot your User Name/Password on the txConnect login screen, click here.

     

    You will have two options to reset your password.  You can reset by user name and hint question or you can reset by e-mail.  In order to use the reset by e-mail, you must have registered your email address when you created your account.     RESETTING YOUR PASSWORD BY USER NAME AND HINT QUESTION:

    To reset your password by user name and hint question, type your user name in the box and click on Next.  Do Not type your email address in the space below.

     


    A box will pop up asking you the hint question you set up when you created your account.  Type the answer in the box and click on Next.

    Note:  The answer you type is case sensitive.  You must type it exactly as you did when you created your account.

     


    A new box will open for you to create a new password.  Your password must be between 8 and 25 characters and must contain at least 3 of the following character types:  uppercase, lowercase, numeric, punctuation.  After you type in your password and confirm your password, click on Finish.

    Note: Your password is case sensitive.  You must always type it exactly as you did when you created the password.

     


    RESETTING YOUR PASSWORD USING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS:


    Note:  In order to use this feature to reset your password, you must have registered your email address when you created your account.

    To reset your password by email, type your email in the box and click on Submit.  Do Not type your user name in the space above.

     

    A box will appear letting you know that an email has been sent to your email address. Click on OK.

     

    At the bottom of the Forgot Password screen, you will see “Click here to go to Login Page”.  Click on the “here” to return to the login page.

    Log into your email account to retrieve your log on information.  The email should come to your email's in box quickly.  If you do not see the email, check your spam filter / junk mail folder.

    The subject line of the email will read “Parent Portal Login Recovery Mail”. 

     

    You will be given your user name and a temporary password.

     

    Return to the txConnect login screen.  Log in using your user name and the temporary password that was emailed to you.  It may be easier to copy and paste the temporary password than to type it.  It will contain a random mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, symbols and/or numbers.  You must type it in exactly as it appears or you will not be able to successfully log back into your account.


    Once you have been able to log back into your account, click on the “My Account” tab to change your password from the temporary password.

    Towards the bottom of the screen, you will find your password information.  Click on Update to change the password.

     

    You will be prompted to type in the Old Password (the temporary password you received in the email).  You will then type in the new password and then type the new password in the box below to confirm password.  Once you have completed this, click on Save to reset your password.

     

    REMEMBER – YOUR PASSWORD IS CASE SENSITIVE.  YOU WILL NEED TO TYPE IT EXACTLY AS YOU DID WHEN YOU CREATED IT.  PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO WHERE YOU USE CAPITAL AND LOWER CASE LETTERS.
