Mrs. Tina Curtis

My name is Tina Curtis and I am proud to be the  principal here at Barbara Jordan Intermediate.

I started my career in education in 1995 as a fourth grade teacher at.....Schertz Elementary! After 8 years in the classroom, I was offered the opportunity to work as an Assistant Principal at Samuel Clemens High School. I spent three and a half years as a buffalo before returning to Schertz Elementary as the principal in 2006. My career had come full circle and it was, literally, like coming home! Serving the staff, students, and families of Jordan Intermediate is my WHY!  

I am an advocate for children and a firm believer that all children CAN and WILL learn.  It is my job to provide the staff and the students with the support that is needed to make learning possible. I also believe that in order to provide the very best education possible to each and every child, our school needs to function as one large Professional Learning Community. Each staff member is equally responsible for the learning of each individual child. Therefore, we operate off of the belief that "no one of us is as smart as all of us" and use each other to make ourselves better educators.

I am blessed with 2 amazing children of my own. Sydney is my precocious seventh grader who definitely keeps me on my toes, and Colton is my well-rounded, out-going eleventh grader! 

I am a visible and "hands-on" leader, and I'd love to get to know our Jordan families so please feel free to stop me and introduce yourself when you see me running around!
