Mission
The mission of J. Frank Dobie Jr. High School library is to assure that students and staff members are effective users of information.
Philosophy
The library is the heart of the school: it is our goal that teachers and the library staff cooperate to reach the common goals of creating enthusiasm for learning and fostering student success in a welcoming atmosphere.
Library Hours
The library is open daily from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Students may come into the library: before/after school, during class/Cougar Time with a pass from their teacher, or during lunch (no pass needed).

- Over 10,000 books and reference books

Circulation Policy

Students may check out three books at a time for a three-week period (but only two graphic novels at a time).

Students need their Dobie ID card to check out books.
- Students are responsible for returning their books on time and undamaged.
- Students are charged for lost books and will be invoiced through MySchoolBucks.
Computer Usage- Students must adhere to the Acceptable Use of District Technology Resources (See Student-Parent Handbook, p. 75) in order to use the computers.
