Welcome to Schlather Intermediate School. We serve approximately 894, fifth and sixth grade learners on a campus where we pride ourselves on providing a caring and welcoming environment for our students, families and the community. Our mission is to educate students academically, socially, and emotionally to Learn, Grow and Lead.
Our commitment to excellence begins with our faculty. The Schlather Huskies are dedicated teams of teachers and support staff that take pride bringing the joy of learning into the daily lives of our students in a responsive classroom. The implementation of the Pillars of Character teaches our students to act responsibly, to treat each other with respect and persons of integrity. As a school community we will approach discipline with positive behavioral supports. A strong school and family partnership in this endeavor is critical and we are fortunate to have tremendous support from our families and community.
Our PTC is an integral part of our school community. The resources and support that they bring to our school enriches the lives of all our students.
It is a privilege to serve the community of Schertz/Cibolo as principal of Schlather. My goal, as instructional leader, is to provide the highest degree of educational opportunity for every student by supporting a foundation of collaboration, and ensuring continued student growth.
What I loved most about being principal is that I have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of every staff and student of Schlather Intermediate every day.
I began my educational career as an elementary teacher in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am a proud military spouse of the United States Air Force (retired) and have enjoyed the experiences of that service. The military has afforded me the opportunity to serve in the positions of teacher, assistant principal and principal at the elementary and middle school level, in the states of Wisconsin, New Mexico, Texas, the country of Japan and back to Texas.
I am honored and humbled to serve as the principal of Schlather Intermediate. I firmly believe in open and meaningful communication and enjoy being visibly active in all aspects of our campus. I am committed to working hard to make the Schlather Intermediate experience a tremendous one for all.
I am blessed to have my husband, Tim and my children Jared, Amahri, and Jaeden as my “All Star” support team.
I look forward to building relationships with your child and your family.
Giving my best to your best,
Yvette R. Ross
