• Welcome, Dobie Junior High School Journalism I and Journalism II students! Mrs PJ photo
I am really excited about this year and I hope you are too! We are going to have a lot of fun learning about journalism. Journalism I students publish online news and features for the Dobie News site. Journalism II students write and edit Dobie News and produce a yearbook.
I am on duty in the cafeteria every Thursday before school.
I offer tutoring and staff work time after school on Tuesdays from 3:45 - 5:00 pm. or by appointment. (I attend most sports/extracurricular events. Please check with me ahead of time to make arrangements.)
I coach U.I.L. Oratory and Ready Writing. During U.I.L., practices are on Tuesdays until 5 p.m.
A little about me -- I have taught English, Speech, yearbook and journalism. I have also worked as a professional and freelance journalist. I earned my bachelors degree in Communications from Texas A&M University Kingsville and my Masters Degree in Educational Leadersip at University of Texas at San Antonio.
Please use this website as a resource throughout the year. It's going to be a great year! If you have any questions, feel free to email me. (You may also call and leave a message at 210-619-5618, but email is the best way to reach me for a fast response.)
