Mr. Anthony Castaneda
Hello Mustang's
My name is Mr. Castaneda. I have been in education for over five years. Most of them have been in the middle school level but I do have a little experience with the elementary group. Last year was my first year teaching at Corbett (19-20). I am alumni of the district, class of 2000. GO BUFFS.
We are going though a lot of uncertainty in the world right now, but I am a teacher, and I want you to know my role.
I am here to help YOU.
I understand we might not be face to face anymore but that does not mean I can't show you multiple ways to solve math problems. I understand you may get frustrated with harder problems and not have an easy way to get an answer, take a breathe, relax, and communicate (email, zoom, etc.). Then be patient. We need to stay organized and try our best. You are smart, you will get better at this, but it all takes practice. Don't throw a hissy fit, just try your hardest.
Educate
The saying give a man a fish he eats for a day teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime.
It is the same in math. If I or your parents do the work for you, you get the answer for the assignment, if you solve and understand the math then you are starting to understand for a life time.
I am here to guide you but you have to be willing to do the work. Math is a subject that most people say they hate, until they understand it. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
This is going to be an amazing year.
