Welcome to Mr. Dryden's 5th grade Sci/S.S. Web Site!
Mrs. Miller is your ELA teacher, and Mrs. Lengyal is your Math teacher.

We are all aticipating an absolutely wonderful year at Jordan Intermediate!  We are expectng the students to quickly learn the teachers' routines and are excited about instilling your high expectations, and are looking forward to the fantastic strides that our Jordan Eagles have become known for.

Our day officially begins at 7:30 a.m.  Children can arrive as early as 7:00, and the cafeteria opens at 7:15 a.m.  My advisory class has lunch from 11:09 - 11:49.  Parents are always welcome to come and have lunch in the cafeteria with your child after signing in at the front office.  Breakfast cost for students is $1.75, and $2.65 for adults.  Lunch cost for students is $2.50, and $3.80 for adults.

All here at Jordan Intermediate firmly believe that regular and genuine communication between the school, teahcers and parents is imperative to the success of "our" Soaring Eagles.  With hard work, a positive attitude, integrity, honor and courage - the High Flying Eagles can, and will, overcome any obstacle set before us.

Please make sure your child practices their multiplication facts every day.  So many skills we work on this year require a firm foundation in the fluency of multiplication.  The more advanced the science, the more important math becomes.  In the spirit of student readiness - "we" need our student to be able to be fluent in math, as it is the language of science in the larger world view.  Reading and academic vocabulary are equally important - so reading at least 30 minutes a night is crutial to be able to truly soar like the Eagles that we are.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me through email, your child's planner, or a phone call.  I will get back with you as soon as it is possible.
Thank you so much for your support!  I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to teach your child and look forward to an amazing year!
