Superintendent's Retirement Transition Timeline
July 18, 2019 – Dr. Greg Gibson announces his retirement from SCUC ISD through his weekly blog, effective upon the naming of a new Superintendent of Schools by the Board of Trustees.
July 23, 2019 – SCUC ISD Board Trustees approve a Request for Proposals(RFP) to hire an Executive Search firm to open the process of selecting a superintendent to include community input.
August 29, 2019 – SCUC Board Trustees approve the Texas Association of School Boards Executive Search Services (TASB) as the firm to conduct the search for a new superintendent.
September 4, 2019 – Dr. Greg Gibson named Executive Director for the Texas Association of Mid-Size Schools (TAMS).
September 16, 2019 – SCUC ISD Board of Trustees meets with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Services Consultant regarding the Superintendent search process and Superintendent search timeline at a called meeting. An informal timeline was developed for the search.
September 17, 2019 - Board Trustees request school personnel and the public be involved in developing a profile of the leadership qualities desired of the person the Board should seek to become the new superintendent.
September 20, 2019 – SCUC ISD stakeholders invited to attend community meetings on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 to assist Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Search Services to develop profile of the leadership qualities desired in the person the Board should seek to become the new Superintendent. The meetings will take place at Ray D. Corbett
October 9, 2019 - SCUC ISD hosts a forum for community members and staff to develop a profile of the leadership qualities desired in the person the Board of Trustees should seek to become the new Superintendent at three campuses:
- Ray D. Corbett Junior High School
- Cibolo Valley Elementary School
- Laura Ingalls Wilder Intermediate School
