• Welcome to Gifted and Talented!!

The Fall Testing period is designed to screen transfer students from other districts who enroll in SCUC ISD with a previously identified GT designation, nomination pending, or parent request.  This testing period is also open to students who enrolled the previous year but came after the Spring testing window.  Secondary (7-12) has open nominations. When transfer records demonstrate previous GT designation, screening records that support placement will be correlated to the SCUC district matrix and the student will not have to retest.

This year we will be using planned experiences to help support the need for testing and provide evidence for nominations in the spring. Planned experiences are sets of high-level, open-ended activities designed specifically to elicit and diagnose gifted behaviors Kingore, B. (2007). This allowed teachers to provide equal opportunity to all students. Each planned experience incorporated gifted characteristics in seven categories: accelerated learning, advanced language, analytical thinking, meaning motivation, perspective, sense of humor, and sensitivity.

    • The Texas Performance Standards Project (TPSP) is a resource for providing differentiated instruction to gifted/talented (G/T) students (and can be used for providing enhanced academic opportunities for all students). The TPSP provides a coherent package of standards, curriculum, and assessments for use in G/T programs from kindergarten through high school.
The goal of the TPSP is to provide resources for G/T teachers and students that allow students to create professional quality work in alignment with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students.
