SCUC ISD Parents/Guardians:
As we all work through the changing situation surrounding Covid-19, or Coronavirus, SCUC ISD understands the difficulties that our staff, students and families are facing. Social distancing and the restriction of movement is making life difficult for everyone, and we appreciate everyone working together to help slow the spread of the virus while continuing student learning.
Area superintendents met today to review the latest information, and SCUC ISD is extending the current closure and suspension of on-site instruction until April 24, 2020. At this time, SCUC ISD plans on reopening schools and offices and transitioning back from remote learning to face-to-face instruction on Monday, April 27, 2020.
This closure continues to apply to instructional classes, after school and extracurricular activities including practices and competitions/performances.
We will transition to our remote learning plan tomorrow, Wednesday, March 25, 2020, and copies of our plan are linked here (English, Spanish). Over the past week, teachers throughout the district have been working to make this plan operational. We are excited to resume instruction, but we are all feeling the stress that this new process brings. Your patience and grace as we work through the bugs is appreciated more than you know.
SCUC ISD is continuing breakfast and lunch can pick up at Schertz Elementary School, located at 701 Curtiss Street, in Schertz. Breakfast can be picked up between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.; lunch service is between 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Starting today, SCUC ISD set up drive-thru mobile meal distribution sites for SCUC ISD students at the following locations from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Monday-Friday:
- Old Rose Garden parking lot at 506 North Blvd in Universal City

- Guadalupe County Services office (Schertz substation) parking lot at 1052 FM 78
- Entrance to Pecan Grove Mobile Home Park at 125 Nu Pecan Grove in Schertz
Please look for the yellow school bus and child nutrition/transportation staff. The student(s) must be in the vehicle in order to receive the meals, and they will receive that day’s lunch and breakfast for the following day at the time of pick-up.
As a community we will weather this storm successfully together. Thank you for your continued support and flexibility during this time.
