Phil Jackson named new principal at Wilder Intermediate
Phil Jackson has been named as the new principal of Laura Ingalls Wilder Intermediate School. SCUC ISD Board Trustees approved the recommendation at the called meeting held on June 7, 2022. Jackson has spent the past twelve years serving as assistant principal at Dobie Junior High School.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to lead Wilder Intermediate,” Jackson said. He will replace Sarah Dauphinais, who was named Executive Director of Elementary Education last month. “ I know I have big shoes to fill and will work diligently to continue the success that we are used to seeing from Wilder. While I will truly miss my Dobie family, I am excited to meet my new Wilder family and look forward to the years ahead.”
Mr. Jackson began his career as a math teacher at Rayburn Middle School in Northside ISD. He later moved to Midland, TX where he served as a math specialist for one year, then a math department chairman for three years prior to coming to Dobie JHS.
Mr. Jackson has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UTSA, and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas-Permian Basin.
Mr. Jackson has been married to his wife, Heather, for 21 years and they have three children, one who is a junior at Byron P. Steele High School, an eighth grader at Dobie Junior HIgh School, and a fifth grader at Schlather Intermediate School.
