Pay raises approved

Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD Board Trustees unanimously approved the recommendation for the 2022-2023 compensation package for teachers and staff during the regular board meeting held on June 21, 2022.

Teachers, counselors, nurses, paraprofessionals, clerical staff and auxiliary staff will receive a 2.5% increase from the midpoint of each pay grade. Starting teacher salaries (zero years of experience) will begin at $53,200.  Administrative personnel will receive a 1.5% pay increase from the midpoint.

In addition to the general pay increase, many of the District’s lowest paid staff, including instructional assistants, custodians, child nutrition workers will receive significant adjustments, some as high as ten to twenty percent above their current salary, resulting from a district market analysis as well as a salary and stipend study performed by the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). The adjustments for paraprofessionals and auxiliary staff exceed $900,000.

Trustees also authorized a $500 retention supplement (minus applicable state and federal withholdings) to be paid on January 27, 2023 for all employees who meet the eligibility requirements.

All pay increases for the 2022-2023 school year will be based on the midpoint for each pay grade.
