Bus drivers celebrated ahead of National School Bus Safety Week

National School Bus Safety Week came a bit early in the form of an appreciation breakfast for SCUC ISD from district senior leadership. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Clark Ealy was joined by Linda Cannon, Chief Human Resources Officer; and Wayne Pruski, Chief Financial Officer; in serving breakfast tacos to the Transportation Staff on October 16th.

October 19-23 is National School Bus Safety Week, originating under President Richard Nixon in 1969. SCUC ISD has a transportation staff of about 147 employees and transports approximately 7,500 students with a fleet of 135 buses. District bus drivers also have amassed over 1,000,000 miles supporting student transportation to and from school as well as all extracurricular and co-curricular events, such as Athletics, Fine Arts, and Career & Technical Education (CTE).
