Seniors at Samuel Clemens High School and Byron P. Steele High School announced their college, military and vocational intentions in front of family, friends and classmates on May 3rd. Clemens held its event in the Events Center, observing all safety protocols, while Steele hosted the occasion in its gymnasium, also with an emphasis on wearing face coverings and observing social distancing.
Most students wore t-shirts of the college they will attend, while those enlisting in the military or receiving an appointment to service academies wore sported the military branch on their shirts.
The majority of seniors committing to college will be attending schools in the University of Texas or Texas A&M system. Some will matriculate in private schools, and others will seek their educational pursuits out of state.
There were seniors who declared their intention to attend vocational institutions, including culinary arts schools.
